A brief review of the MC19 Weekend:
Despite a very wet and windy Saturday, MC19 brought an incredible array of events, attractions and music to the Morecambe Promenade, welcoming visitors from far and wide.
The MC19 EDF Energy Science Zone, this year hosted at the Winter Gardens was a huge success with over 1500 visitors of all ages exploring science through brilliant shows and interactive exhibitions.
The Local Legends Stage provided a great platform for local talent to shine. The music and entertaining continued throughout the weekend despite the challenging conditions.
Other new attractions like Axe throwing from the Lonsdale District Scouts as well as returning favourites like Circus Sensible also entertained visitors and residents across the weekend.
Calmer weather on Sunday allowed the Carnival Parade to take place. Entrants from all over the Morecambe community paraded the promenade, showcasing their clubs, teams, businesses, groups and causes to the thousands who turned out to cheer them on.
The main stage continued to shine and draw huge crowds to enjoy a line up new, emerging as well as legendary nationally touring artists such as The Christians, S-Club and Toyah. The stage also saw the exclusive reunion performance of Morecambe’s own Ice Factory.
